“Dare to declare who you are.
It is not far from the shores of silence to the boundaries of speech.
The path is not long, but the way is deep.
You must not only walk there…be prepared to leap.”
– Hildegard Von Bingen
Declare the Deep YOU…
When people land on your website, read your Facebook ad, or scan a description of a program you’re offering, you want them to hear YOU speaking.
YOU. The “you” that issues from your heart and rings of your unique, authentic voiceprint.
My experience as an entrepreneur and as a professional helper, indeed as a human being, has made this lesson crystal clear: authenticity in self-expression is at the heart of true success.
Authenticity is rooted, for everyone, in the universal essence of love. It emerges with a distinct flavor through every soul.
Your authentic message will be the catalyst to alleviate and heal distress. YOU are the key in the lock. This wisdom is as old as time.
I can help you dare to declare YOU on the page, on the web, in life.
I’m all in when it comes to helping others communicate how they can be of service to the world. The right people will always find the right voice, expressed in Truth.
I’ve been called a “word smith”, blessed with a way with language. I started writing when I took my first journalism class in high school. After I earned a degree in journalism from Michigan State University, I worked for ten years in the fields of graphic design, corporate communications, public relations and marketing.
I wrote press releases, advertising copy, promotional video scripts, publicity articles, human interest stories, newsletters, news articles and technical manuals. Executives I wrote for often heard their constituents say, “I didn’t know you could write. It was so YOU!” I took that as a keen compliment. It meant that “I” had dropped out of the picture. I had served the will of an authentic voice.
Later, life beckoned me into the mental health field, and I earned graduate degrees in counseling and counseling psychology, but that’s another story. Suffice it to say, that my helping career nurtured my intense curiosity about people and my desire to alleviate suffering.
About twenty years ago, I began offering life coaching as a solopreneur and invested in a “fellowship” in internet marketing.
…And Writing Credentials
Two years ago, I met the genre of “creative nonfiction.” It’s factual writing that is cinematic, evocative, colorful and emotional. It is truthful. It is real.
I’ve spent two years studying creative writing with Method Writing teacher, Jules Swales. Method Writing, developed by Jack Grapes, taught me to answer two questions: “What is the story of my life?” and “What is the truth of who I am?”
Plunging into those questions in my writing captivated. I fell in love with the paintbrush of words and my communications changed. I clarified my authentic knowing and stopped running parallel to the river of my true voice. This focused and brought a new depth and range to my work.
I want to pay forward what I experienced and saw. I can help you leap and declare who you are through your words. I can help you clarify your healing message.
How does my copywriting service work?
First, we’ll talk about who you are and laser in on the focus of your brand. I’ll guide you through a 90-minute consultation. The tuition is $300USD and includes my review of your website, blog, etc., which I’ll complete before we talk.
Second, I’ll ask you to reflect on your authentic voice and complete a few short worksheets for me.
Then, we’ll work on your projects. The work is back and forth and iterative. This work can include:
- Website copy
- Ad copy
- Program descriptions for advertising
- Social media posts
- Developmental editing of blog posts and newsletters
We’ll be done when you think the project sings “YOU” and you are 100% satisfied. The speed with which we get there depends on the scope of the project and how much you already know about your authentic message. I don’t do “urgent” work. Be prepared to take the time to get your message right.
The base rate for this service is $200 per hour. Once I know a voice and if I have a rough go to work with, I can polish an ad in a half hour. I can quote more extensive jobs.
Is there anything I don’t do?
Ghostwrite or edit books.
